PD Breakthrough

Finaly I have gotten past that intensly agrivating point of trying to find yourself in a maze and I have just completed a fairly descent patch. THis patch plays the three video pieces continuosly but switches between them when triggered by different pitch frequencies by the microphone.

La France

I just came back from a trip to Paris and made an effort to see some gallerys and street art but latogether was a bit disapointed. From looking at the ekosystem website I was under the impression that good artistic graffiti was prevalent in Paris but accodring to Alex One, Parisian artist it was stopped 10 years ago and any work is cleaned off immediately by the mayor, known as Notre Dame. This leaves graffiti to exist in the coffee table mannor of the gallery and pushes the real artists into the suburbs and out of the culture of the city.

The Content of My Head is Visable @ Espace Beaurpaire
As said, coffee table fashion hype graff on canvas some interesting stuff but mostly conformities to gallery art and graffiti, leaving the work with no particular purpose just a mix of two branding styles.

Permanent Collection @ Musee Du Arte Modorne
As it says on the tin. A great collection of modern greats to contemporary inginuity. Similar in style, but more contemporary and French, to the collection at Tate Modern.

Notre-Histoire @ Palais de Tokyo
Very pop, very big, very much like the fluffy popier version of the YBA movement. Large works, witty, pointless, cute, nice. Not too impressed but worth seeing.

Excerpt from Straw Dogs

Very inspirational piece that talks about the unity of a system....

Gilbert & George Vs JR

I went to the G&G opening at the White Cube gallery with Luisa. It was probably the most horrable piece of work I have ever seen and proved to me even further about work created solely as a comodity.
On the other hand just around the corner there is an exhibition by JR a French photographer. I was a fan of him already and een more now. He takes photographs of street artists and of the suburban French ghettos. These images are blown up on an architects printer ( as he old me himself ) and wallpaper pasted onto walls. Some big billboard sizes. Influences me to get photos printed the size of billboards and paste onto them. Take pictures of people on the streets and put them up......
